Standout shortstop Nick Madole signs with Biola University

Irvine Valley sophomore baseball player Nick Madole has signed with NCAA Division II Biola University.

Madole was the starting shortstop for the Lasers the last two seasons. He also batted leadoff most of this past spring.

He batted .279 overall with 41 hits, including three doubles, two home runs and 17 RBI on the year. Madole had a .403 on base percentage and also stole six bases.

And he was even better in Orange Empire Conference play. He batted .308 in conference action with two doubles and eight RBI. He also had a team-best .427 on base percentage in OEC play.

The former Huntington Beach High standout had 12 multi-hit games, including nine in conference.

He played in 39 games in each of the last two seasons for the Lasers. In the 2022 season, Madole finished with six doubles, three triples, one home run and 21 RBI.

He is headed to a Biola team that had a record of 19-27 overall and went 13-15 in the PacWest Conference.
