Baseball player Drew Porter signs with Cal State Los Angeles

Irvine Valley starting left fielder Drew Porter is off to NCAA Division II Cal State Los Angeles.

Porter, out of Mater Dei High, arrived at IVC from Cal State Northridge, played in 39 games and hit .254 with four home runs and 21 RBI this past season for the Lasers.

He scored 26 runs, had 33 hits, seven doubles and one triple. Porter also stole five bases and had a .415 slugging percentage.

Porter finished the season with three hits in seven at bats in two of the three games as IVC swept Golden West. He added a home run and five RBI in the two contests.

Porter recorded at least two hits in 11 games, including having three hits in two contests.

He is headed to a Cal State Los Angeles program that competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Conference. Porter 

The Eagles had a record of 19-29 last year and went 14-15 in the tough CCAA conference.
