Irvine Valley sophomore baseball player Nate Skorheim has signed with NCAA Division II Chico State.
The 6-2 righty reliever didn't see much action on the mound in 2022 with four appearances.
But he starred out of the pen this past spring.
Skorheim made 15 appearances and had a 1-0 record with three saves and a 3.67 ERA. In 27 innings pitched the former Huntingon Beach High player had 17 strikeouts. And in five of his appearances, he didn't allow a run.
Skoheim earned a save in his final time on the mound at IVC. He threw four innings in Irvine Valley's 10-5 win over Golden West at home on Apr. 27.
He is headed to a Chico State program that finished with a record of 19-25 overall last season and went 13-21 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
