Alumni Report: Madole has a great year on mound at Vanguard

Former Irvine Valley pitcher Nate Madole recently finished a solid season with NAIA Vanguard.

The Lions finished with a record of 35-18 overall and 15-9 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.

Madole, a senior left-handed pitcher, ended the 2023 season with 21 appearances.

He ended with a 4-1 record with five saves for the Lions and had a 3.82 ERA.

Vanguard fell just short of the NAIA Tournament.

Madole spent the previous two years with the Lasers and played at Loyola Marymount a year before that.

The Huntington Beach High product finished the 2022 spring season at IVC with a record of 2-4 with one save.

Madole appeared in 13 games and started nine contests. He threw 50 innings with 35 strikeouts.

Madole got better and better as the season went on and finished on a strong note.

He pitched 7.1 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts in Irvine Valley's 5-3 win over Golden West in an Orange Empire Conference game at Cal State Fullerton's Goodwin Field on Apr. 29, 2022.

Irvine Valley ended the year with a record of 17-23 overall in 2022.
