Alumni Report: Lapolla earns Mid-South all-academic honors

Former Irvine Valley centerfielder Joey Lapolla was one of 17 Georgetown College baseball players recently named Mid-South Conference all-academic.

Lapolla played in 40 games this season for the Tigers, who ended with a 29-22 overall record.

In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term of fourth quarter.

Lapolla is a junior outfielder at Georgetown.

He played in 40 games, scored 32 runs and had two home runs and four stolen bases on the season for the Tigers.

In 2022 at Irvine Valley, Lapolla played in 39 of the Lasers' 40 games and batted .254 with 22 runs, four doubles, two triples and one home run.

The former Tesoro High player finished with 19 RBI and also had six stolen bases.
