Irvine Valley posted its most hits of the season in a 12-6 Orange Empire Conference win over Golden West on Saturday on the road.
Irvine Valley snapped a two-game skid in conference and improved its record to 11-13 overall and 2-7 in conference.
The Lasers scored a bunch early on. They put up two runs in the second and third innings and then added three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 7-1 lead.
Millar had a two-run single in the fourth.
Irvine Valley added three runs in the top of the seventh inning on a RBI single by Jack and another two-run single by Millar.
IVC led, 10-1. The Lasers scored two more runs in the top of the ninth. Sophomore shortstop Jordan Gillerman had a run-scoring double and freshman Alec Ceniceros added a RBI single.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Ryan Abady threw eight solid innings to get the win and improve his record to 3-3 overall. Abady gave up one run on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
Jack was 5 for 6 with three runs scored and one RBI, Millar went 3 for 5 with two runs scored, a walk and four RBI to lead the offense for IVC.
Gillerman was 4 for 5 with one RBI, freshman third baseman Austin Reynolds went 2 for 6 with two RBI, freshman first baseman Tyler Wagner was 2 for 5 with two RBI, freshman right fielder Joseph Gomez went 2 for 3 with two walks and two RBI and sophomore second baseman Kyle Golden went 2 for 6 with two runs scored to add to the win.
Irvine Valley starts a three-game set with Orange Coast on Tuesday at OCC.
