Irvine Valley's baseball team rallied for a 5-4 nonconference win over Los Angeles Harbor on Thursday afternoon at home.

It was IVC's second straight win over Harbor, after beating the Seahawks, 15-1, on Tuesday on the road.

The victories improved Irvine Valley's record to 10-11 overall, while LA Harbor's record fell to 7-14.

LA Harbor got out to an early lead on Thursday, scoring four runs in the top of the second inning off of Irvine Valley freshman pitcher Austin Reynolds.

Reynolds was making his first start on the mound on the season.

The Seahawks scored all four runs with two outs. Alec Ojeda and Jeysen Delgado each had two-run singles.

Irvine Valley started to chip away at Harbor's lead in the bottom of the third inning.

Sophomore shortstop Jordan Gillerman singled through the right side to knock in one run and make it a 4-1 game.

Then in the bottom of the sixth, freshman first baseman Alec Ceniceros came through with an RBI single to bring IVC within 4-2.

The Lasers tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single by freshman right fielder Weston Ellis and then a Harbor error that brought in a run.

Irvine Valley took the lead in the eighth inning. With runners at first and third with one out, Gillerman pushed a sacrifice bunt to the first base side that allowed freshman Jarrett Anton to score.

Sophomore left-hander Ryan Abady threw the final seven innings of the game and was nearly perfect.

He didn't allow a run and only gave up two hits with three strikeouts. Abady faced just one batter over the minimum in his seven-inning stint.

Abady improved his record to 2-3 on the year.

Irvine Valley finished with 12 hits in the game. Freshman catcher Cole Joy was 2 for 3 with a walk, freshman second baseman Adam Rossit was 2 for 4 and sophomore center fielder Dillon Millar went 2 for 5.

Irvine Valley gets back to Orange Empire Conference action next Tuesday, traveling to Golden West for a 2 p.m. game.

The Lasers host Golden West next Thursday at 2 p.m.
