The Irvine Valley women's beach volleyball team's season came to a close Tuesday afternoon in a 3C2A Southern California Regional event at El Camino.
Irvine Valley, which won the Orange Empire Conference, was seeded 12th. The Lasers fell to No. 4 host El Camino, 4-1, before losing to No. 5 Long Beach City, 3-2.
El Camino defeated Long Beach City, 3-2, to move on to the 3C2A State Championship next week at West Valley College.
Against El Camino, Irvine Valley received a win on the fourth court from the sophomore pair of Ava Guenther and Felicia Bonus, 22-20, 23-21.
IVC's No. 2 duo of sophomore Natalia Brandlin and freshman Audrey Fowler went three sets, but fell, 14-21, 21-11, 15-13.
Irvine Valley had its chances against Long Beach City in its second match.
Brandlin and Fowler won, 21-15, 21-14, on the second court and the No. 3 pair of freshman Avery Bennett and sophomore Mia Bertolone came out on top, 21-19, 21-13.
Irvine Valley's No. 1 pair of sophomores Tessa Marocco and Kenzie Dews fell, 19-21, 21-19, 15-9.
IVC finished the team season with a record of 15-6 overall.
