Irvine Valley's women's beach volleyball team defeated Concordia and fell to Nebraska in matches on Wednesday at the Newland Street Courts in Huntington Beach.
Irvine Valley edged Concordia, 3-2, and lost to Nebraska, 5-0.
Nebraska is ranked No. 15 in the nation.
IVC was coming off playing two other four-year schools on Monday in Huntington Beach, losing to Loyola Marymount, 4-1, and Grand Canyon, 5-0.
Irvine Valley had two of its pairs go three sets with the Nebraska squad.
IVC's top team of sophomores Emily Reinking and Hailee Earnest lost to Riley and Kadie, 21-19, 15-21, 15-7, and IVC's No. 4 team of freshman Juju Cannon and Alissa Blevins fell to Kenzie and Brianna, 21-15, 18-21, 15-7.
In its match with Concordia, Irvine Valley won on the first, second and fifth courts.
Reinking and Earnest won, 23-21, 21-18, over Rachel Flynn and Kaila Ames, the IVC No. 2 team of freshman Carlee Roethlisberger and sophomore Hannah Matt defeated Boyd and Rose, 21-15, 21-15, and the Laser No. 5 pair of freshman Brittany Tuliau and sophomore Taylor Askins defeated Katie and Morgan, 21-18, 21-18.
IVC's No. 4 team of Blevins and sophomore Samantha Goodman dropped a tough three-set match.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 5-4 overall.
The Lasers finish up their busy week with two more matches against four-year schools on Saturday in Huntington Beach. IVC takes on Cal Poly and plays Concordia again.
