Irvine Valley's athletes of the week for Mar. 25 are the No. 2 beach pair of sophomore Natalia Brandlin and freshman Audrey Fowler.
The star duo has helped the IVC team off to a 9-0 start in the Orange Empire Conference and a 10-4 record overall.
The duo won their match in a showdown against OCC last Friday, 21-15, 16-21, 15-11, at home.
Brandlin and Fowler also defeated a Fullerton pair, 21-10, 21-9, in an Irvine Valley sweep.
The previous week, Brandlin and Fowler won, 21-8, 21-8, against Riverside on the second court.
Both players were also named all-conference in indoor volleyball last fall as Irvine Valley finished with a record of 22-5 overall and made the semifinals of the 3C2A State Championship.
Brandlin was named first team all-conference as a middle blocker and Fowler was selected second team as the team's top libero.
The Irvine Valley beach team has this week off, but plays again next Friday with Fullerton hosting the Lasers and Saddleback.
