Irvine Valley's women's volleyball team played tough throughout the night on Wednesday, but fell to a solid Mt. San Antonio team in four sets at home.
Mt. SAC came out on top, 25-10, 16-25, 25-14, 25-22.
Irvine Valley's record fell to 0-4 overall, while the Mounties moved to 3-2.
Mt. SAC was ranked No. 13 in the first top-25 ranking of the season by the CCCWVBCA.
IVC was paced by freshman outside hitter Emma Mendel with 11 kills and 10 digs.
Freshman middle blocker Jazlynn Fu contributed 10 kills and hit .421 on the night and freshman outside hitter/setter Dalilah Rivero ended with 16 assists and a team-high 17 digs.
Emma Carson and Sydney Valentine led Mt. SAC with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, while also contributing 12 digs each on defense.
Mountie setter Morgan Wilson ended with 41 assists.
Irvine Valley hosts its alumni match on Friday night at 6 p.m.
