Irvine Valley's women's soccer team stayed unbeaten on the season with a 1-1 tie in a non-conference match at San Diego City Friday afternoon.

The Lasers were coming off a 1-0 victory over Mt. San Jacinto earlier in the week.

Friday's match was scoreless until the 70th minute when Irvine Valley took the lead.

Freshman Samantha Mendoza scored IVC's goal with sophomore Madisen Hammonds providing the assist.

San Diego City tied the match up with a goal in the 80th minute.

Irvine Valley (1-0-1) will play its first home match of the season next Tuesday at 3 p.m. against Palomar.

The match is part of a doubleheader with the IVC men's team.
