Golfer Katie Stribling takes second at North/South Invite

Irvine Valley freshman women's golfer Katie Stribling ended play in the North/South Invitational at Morro Bay Golf Course on Monday with a solid second-place finish.

Stribling carded 76 on Sunday and then 75 on Monday to come in with a total of 151.

That was four shots behind Gurman Kaur of Sierra. She finished with rounds of 73 and 74 for 147.

Tammy Lim of Fresno City and Stephanie Farouze of Santa Barbara City tied for third at 155.

Morro Bay will be the site of this year's state tournament.

Stribling had won her first three events of this season.

Irvine Valley freshman Emily Crowl also competed in the tournament at Morro Bay and finished with a total of 235.

The Lasers are back in action on Wednesday when they participate in an Orange Empire Conference match at Arroyo Trabuco. The event will be hosted by Saddleback.
