Golfer Katie Stribling earns her third straight medalist honor

Irvine Valley women's golfer Katie Stribling is now three for three in picking up victories in matches for 2018.

The freshman earned medalist honors once again, shooting a 2 over par 72 in an Orange Empire Conference match on the Mesa Linda course at Costa Mesa Country Club on Wednesday afternoon.

Stribling finished two shots ahead of Fulllerton's Eunsoo Jeon and four shots in front of Saddleback's Brittany Do.

Stribling had already been medalist at the Desert Classic tournament last month and at the first conference match at LA Royal Vista two weeks ago.

Irvine Valley freshman Emily Crowl carded 94 for IVC to place 12th among the field.

Stribling will compete at the North/South Invitational Sunday and Monday at Morro Bay and face many of the top competitors from around the state.

The Lasers then play again next Thursday at Arroyo Trabuco-Orange County Golf Club in another conference match. The event is hosted by Saddleback and will tee off at 11 a.m.
