Women's golf team takes second again in conference contest

Irvine Valley's women's golf team finished with a record of 3-1 for second straight Orange Empire Conference match.

The Lasers ended with a four-player team score of 348 to defeat Mt. SAC (356), Fullerton (357) and Orange Coast (no score) at the Temecula Creek Inn Golf Resort in Temecula.

The site will be used for the Southern California Regionals later in the year.

Saddleback went undefeated on the day and for the second OEC match in a row.

The Gauchos shot 333 to go 4-0 and move into first place in the conference standings.

Saddleback has a record of 11-1, while Irvine Valley sits in second at 10-2.

Fullerton's Kaylee Jeon was the medalist on the day with a score of 77.

Irvine Valley freshman Kylie Sok tied for second with a score of 78. Saddleback's Brittney Do also shot 78.

Irvine Valley freshman Vera Yuan came in at 87, sophomore Esther Kim was at 91 and sophomore Akie Sannomiya carded 92 to round out IVC's scoring.

The Lasers play again next Wednesday in a match at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda. The contest will be hosted by Mt. SAC.
