Women's golf team finishes 3-1 in second conference match

Irvine Valley's women's golf team finished second in the second Orange Empire Conference match of the season on Wednesday afternoon.

The match was hosted by Orange Coast at Mesa Linda in Costa Mesa.

Irvine Valley finished with a four-player team score of 335.

Saddleback won the meet with a score of 323.

IVC picked up three wins on the day and is now in a tie for first place with Saddleback in the conference standings after two matches.

The Lasers edged Mts. SAC (score of 337) for second place.

Irvine Valley's top score was once again turned in by freshman Kylie Sok. She had the third-best score overall on the day with a 7-over par 70.

Saddleback's Brittney Do was the medalist at 71 and Mt. SAC's Mackenzie Kelly came in at 76.

Also shooting in the 70's for the Lasers was freshman Vera Yuan. She was a shot behind Sok at 78.

Sophomore Akie Sannomiya, who shot 84, and sophomore Esther Kim, who carded 96, rounded out Irvine Valley's scorers.

The Lasers play again this Saturday and Sunday in the North/South Invitational at Morro Bay.

Morro Bay is the site of this year's CCCAA State Championships.
