Irvine Valley's women's golf team placed seventh out of 10 teams at the opening South Coast Classic, which finished up on Monday in Ventura.
Irvine Valley ended with a two-day total score of 697.
Sierra, which is the defending state champion, won the event with a score of 600. Santa Barbara City was second at 622.
The first day of the event on Sunday was played at par 72 Olivas Links with the final round on Monday at par 71 Buenaventura.
Irvine Valley shot 349 as a team on the first day and 348 on the second day.
Freshman Kylie Sok led the way for the Lasers. She finished with a two-day total of 151 to place sixth individually and make the all-tournament team.
Neo Bando of Sierra was the tournament's medalist at 141.
She fired a 77 at Olivas Links and followed that up with a 3 over par 74 at Buenaventura.
Freshman Vera Yuan shot 82 in the first round and 77 in the second round to come in at 159.
Sophomore Akie Sannomiya finished at 186 and sophomore Esther Kim came in at 201 to round out the Lasers' scoring.
Irvine Valley plays again at the Desert Classic this Friday and Saturday.
