Irvine Valley's women's basketball team, riding an 11-game win streak, moved up another spot in the California Community College Athletic Association state rankings this week.
Irvine Valley is now No. 5 in the state.
The Lasers, who have a record of 23-3 overall and 10-0 in the Orange Empire Conference, trail only Mt. San Antonio, College of the Sequoias, East Los Angeles and Diablo Valley in the state rankings.
The Lasers continued to be ranked third in Southern California behind only Mt. SAC and East LA.
Irvine Valley has two games left in the regular season. It plays host to Santa Ana on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and then travels to Fullerton on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest.
The 23-3 record through 26 games is the best in program history at Irvine Valley.
IVC clinched at least a share of the conference title with a 73-58 win over 11th-ranked in the state Cypress last Thursday at home.
Irvine Valley can win the title outright with a win over Santa Ana on Wednesday.
