Each year, Irvine Valley College Athletics hosts various events in support of important causes.
The latest of these efforts will feature the IVC men's and women's basketball programs supporting the nationwide effort known as Coaches Vs. Cancer.
This year's games will be held on Friday, Jan. 30 vs. Orange Coast in Hart Gym, with the men playing at 5 p.m. and the women immediately following at 7 p.m.
With the recent passing of one of our favorite IVC dance faculty members Marie de la Palme to cancer, Laser women's coach Julie Hanks and her team have chosen to dedicate this game to her memory.
All proceeds from the women's contest will go to the Marie de la Palme Memorial Scholarship of the Irvine Valley College Foundation. Bring your friends and family, come out and see the Lasers play Orange Coast, and help raise money to honor Marie.
We can't think of a better way for you to spend your Friday evening.
