Men's volleyball team finishes strong in win at Santa Barbara

Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team rallied to beat Santa Barbara City in four sets and improved its record to 5-2 overall.

The Lasers dropped the first set, but took the final three sets to win 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-15, Wednesday night on the road.

Freshman outside hitter JT Demure led the Lasers with nine kills and 12 digs.

Freshman outside hitter Josh Beymer added seven kills and four blocks and hit a team-best .583, freshman outside hitter Jaden Churchill also had seven kills and freshman outside hitter Colin Chillingworth contributed six kills.

Freshman setter Andrew Perez finished with 21 assists and freshman setter Donovan Gudino had 13 assists and freshman libero Adam Schulte contributed 16 digs in the win.

Santa Barbara's record went to 2-2 overall.

IVC plays again Friday, hosting Palomar at 6 p.m. Fans are welcome with social distancing and masks are required.
