Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team had a nice road trip on Wednesday.
The Lasers played a pair of matches and came away with two wins.
Irvine Valley defeated Moorpark, 25-16, 25-20, 24-26, 18-25, 15-11, in a a 1 p.m. contest and then followed that up with a win at four-year college The Master's University, 25-21, 22-25, 26-24, 31-29, at 7 p.m.
The two victories improved Irvine Valley's record to 4-1 overall on the season.
IVC received contributions from all around in the two contests with Coach Ryan Windisch able to use multiple, different lineups and rotations.
In the opener at Moorpark, freshman outside hitter Colin Chillingworth led the way with 15 kills and 14 digs.
But three other players had at least seven kills. Freshman opposite Caden Perkins finished with 10 kills, freshman outside hitter JT Demure added nine kills, two aces and nine digs and freshman middle blocker Trevor Weinert contributed seven kills and hit .538.
Freshman setter Donovan Gudino ran the offense with 35 assists. He also had eight digs.
Freshman libero Adam Schulte chipped in 10 digs.
In the nightcap at The Master's University, IVC had five players that recorded at least five kills.
Freshman outside hitter Jaden Churchill paced the Lasers with nine kills and added four digs. Freshman outside hitter Karl Stenlund had eight kill, eight digs and five blocks.
Freshman outside hitter Josh Beymer and freshman opposite Giffin Book each ended with six kills. Beymer also had five blocks.
And Weinert added five kills in six attempts and had three blocks.
Freshman Andrew Perez set in the second match and finished with 27 assists. Gudino had nine assists.
Schulte paced the squad on defense with 15 digs.
Irvine Valley has picked up a match on Friday, which was originally a bye date, and will take on four-year college Vanguard at 6 p.m.
