Men's volleyball player Billy Crow headed to Park University

Another sophomore Irvine Valley men's volleyball player has signed with a four-year school.

Standout libero Billy Crow will be playing at Park University in Parkville, Mo. next season, according to IVC head coach Ki Yi.

Crow was one of the top players on Irvine Valley's squad this past spring, pacing the squad in total digs with 245 and in digs per set at 3.60.

He ranked first in the state in digs and second in digs per set.

Crow was named second team all-Orange Empire Conference for his efforts.

He helped Irvine Valley finish with a record of 13-6 overall and a 11-3 mark in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. IVC reached the quarterfinals of the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship.

Crow had double digit digs in 16 of 19 matches for the Lasers. He recorded a season-high 19 digs at Santa Barbara City and also had 18 digs in a five-set loss at Grossmont. He recorded 16 digs in four other matches, including three wins in a row in conference for the Lasers.

Crow red-shirted for the Lasers last season. During his freshman campaign in 2013, he finished with 203 total digs and averaged 2.74 digs per set.

He is headed to a Park program that has been one of the best in the NAIA.

The Pirates made the semifinals of the NAIA National Championships this past spring.

They were ranked No. 1 in the nation for a good part of the season and went into the championships ranked No. 2.

Park had a record of 26-6 overall.
