Volleyball player Cole Murray named all-tournament at state

Irvine Valley freshman outside hitter Cole Murray was named to the all-tournament team for the 2014 CCCAA Men's Volleyball State Championships on Wednesday night.

Irvine Valley was knocked out of the event in the semifinals with a 25-20, 25-18, 25-20 loss to Orange Coast.

The Lasers finished the season with a record of 13-8 overall.

Murray finished with 14 kills (hit an amazing 1.000) in IVC's dramatic five-set quarterfinal win at Long Beach City last week and then had 10 kills in IVC's loss to Orange Coast in the state semifinals on Wednesday.

On the season, Murray averaged 2.98 kills per set and hit .311. He ranked second on the team in both kills and kills per set.
