Former men's volleyball player Kevin Fiske named MVP for Concordia

Former Irvine Valley men's volleyball players Kevin Fiske, Mark Metrakos and Chris Reames helped lead Concordia to NAIA National Conference Tournament title for the second year in a row.

Concordia beat Hope International, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, in the final match last Saturday night at Concordia.

No. 1 ranked Concordia had a record of 4-0 in the tournament and now moves to its second-straight NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational Tournament Championship Apr. 10-12 in Denver, Colo.

Concordia won the NAIA national championship last season.

Fiske, a senior setter, finished with 49 assists and eight digs to lead the Eagles.

He was named the MVP of the tournament.

Several other awards were also announced with Metrakos, a senior middle blocker, earned second team all-conference honors.

Fiske and Metrakos helped Irvine Valley to a state title in 2011.
