Dowan Kim is second men's soccer player headed to Life Pacific

Another Irvine Valley men's soccer player is headed to NAIA Life Pacific University.

Sophomore strike Benjamin Asabi signed with the university in San Dimas last week. And now freshman midfielder Dowan Kim has commited to the Warriors.

Life Pacific is starting its program for men's soccer in the fall of 2020.

Kim and Asabi will be playing for former IVC associate head coach Shaun Harris.

Kim was a big reason why Irvine Valley reached the Southern California Regional Playoffs this past season.

He set up many of the goals for Asabi, freshman forward Max Kleinhammes and others.

Kim, originally from South Korea, led the Lasers in assists with seven. He also added one goal.

His best match of the year came in one of Irvine Valley's best victories. Kim assisted on all three goals as the Lasers downed rival Santa Ana, 3-1, on No. 8, 2019 at home.

Irvine Valley finished the season with a record of 8-8-7 overall.
