  • Irvine Valley College athletics places 12th in NATYCAA Cup
    June 30, 2015
    The Lasers end up 12th in the state standings for two-year colleges. It is IVC's best-ever finish in the cup competition. Irvine Valley won state titles in women's volleyball, men's tennis and sand volleyball in 2014-15.
  • Men's soccer players Antonelli and Yep named first team all-OEC
    December 11, 2014
    Sophomore Riccardo Antonelli and freshman Kevin Yep are each selected first team all-Orange Empire Conference for the Irvine Valley men's soccer team. Tony Scimeca and Cole Leveque are second-team players for the Lasers.

    Irvine Valley loses to Santa Ana, 2-1, at home on Friday in an Orange Empire Conference match. The Lasers finish the season with a record of 6-10-5 overall. Sean Goode scores the lone goal for IVC.

    Irvine Valley controls much of the possession and has chances late in the match, but can't find the back of the net in a 0-0 tie with the Hawks in an Orange Empire Conference match Friday at home. IVC is at Golden West on Monday.
  • Men's soccer team continues late charge with 3-0 win

    Irvine Valley scores three goals in the second half to beat Orange Coast, 3-0, in an Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday at home. It is IVC's third win in its last four games. Alexis Plata scores the game-winner in the 48th minute.
  • Men's soccer team wins second straight, beats Norco
    October 29, 2014
    Irvine Valley scores four goals for the second straight match and beats Norco, 4-1, on the road Tuesday. Fernando Arroyo scored the first two goals for IVC and the Lasers cruised from there. Irvine Valley is at Fullerton on Friday.
  • Men's soccer team shuts out Cypress, 4-0, at home
    October 24, 2014
    Irvine Valley gets four goals in the second half to beat the Chargers at home in an Orange Empire Conference match on Friday at home. Takeo Brady, Alexis Plata, Sean Goode and Riccardo Antonelli each score for IVC.
  • Men's soccer team comes up short at Santa Ana
    October 21, 2014
    The Lasers play right with Santa Ana, which is ranked tied for fourth in the state, but can't get a goal in a 1-0 loss on the road. IVC hosts Cypress on Friday at 1 p.m.
  • Men's soccer team runs into tough Golden West squad
    October 17, 2014
    Irvine Valley loses, 4-0, to a Golden West team that leads the Orange Empire Conference standings and is ranked No. 9 in the state poll. IVC plays again next Tuesday at Santa Ana.
  • Goode's hat trick paces men's soccer team to 4-1 win

    Irvine Valley scores three goals in the first half and one in the second half in an important Orange Empire Conference victory at Santiago Canyon on Tuesday afternoon. Good's three goals give him six for the season.

    After dominating Norco last Friday, Irvine Valley couldn't make it two wins in a row in the Orange Empire Conference. Fullerton, behind three goals by Brian Jaquez, beats IVC, 4-1 on Tuesday at Irvine Valley.

    The Lasers control the action from start to finish in the 3-0 Orange Empire Conference victory at home on Friday. Alexis Plata scores two goals and Alan Anaya adds a goal in the win. IVC hosts Fullerton on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
  • Men's soccer team battles, but comes up short at Cypress

    The Lasers fight back from a two-goal halftime deficit with two goals midway through the second half. But a late goal by Cypress gives the Chargers a 3-2 victory in the conference match at Cypress on Tuesday.
  • Men's soccer team looks strong in draw with Hartnell
    September 11, 2014
    The Lasers play right with the defending state champion, earning a 0-0 tie in a nonconference match on Thursday at home. IVC improves to 1-2-3 on the season. It plays again on Sept. 24 at Rio Hondo.
  • Men's soccer team holds on for win against Moorpark
    September 09, 2014
    The Lasers earn a 3-2 victory over Moorpark on Tuesday at home. It is IVC's first victory of the season. Tony Scimeca, Sean Goode and Alexis Plata scored goals to stake Irvine Valley to a 3-0 lead in the game.
  • Men's soccer team rallies to tie Glendale in 2014 opener
    August 27, 2014
    The Lasers get two goals from freshman forward Alan Anaya, including one in the 94th minute off an assist from Alex Plata, to tie Glendale, 2-2, on Wednesday at home. IVC is off to the Hartnell Tournament this weekend.
