Men's golf team plays better on second day of Tee Off Classic

Irvine Valley's men's golf team finished up the Orange Empire Conference Tee Off Classic on Wednesday with a better performance.

The Lasers finished with a team score of 412 Wednesday after shooting 446 under tough, windy conditions on Monday at Los Serranos in Chino Hills.

Orange Coast won the Monday round with a score of 377. Santiago Canyon was next at 380 and followed by Cypress at 398.

Riverside came in fourth at 401, Saddleback was fifth at 403 and IVC ended sixth at 412.

Sophomore Andrew Lichty was IVC's top golfer on day two.

He had two birdies, eight pars and eight bogeys for a score of 78.

Freshman Bruce Miranda finished with 10 pars, six bogeys and two double bogeys for an 82.

Freshman Kurt Hendricks carded an 83 on one eagle, two birdies, five pars, five bogeys, one double bogey and two triple bogeys.

Also shooting 83 was sophomore Joe Gordon. He finished with two birdies, five pars, nine bogeys and two double bogeys.

Sophomore Steven Zezima finished at 86 on eight pars, seven bogeys, two double bogeys and one triple bogey.

And freshman Albert Arvayo was at 87 with six pars, nine bogeys and three double bogeys.

Irvine Valley plays again at the Eagle Classic in Soboba Springs on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
