Alumni Report: Hascup was off to a great start at Westcliff

Former Irvine Valley baseball player Michael Hascup was off to a fine start in the 2020 spring season for Westcliff University in Irvine.

Hascup was an outfielder at IVC for two years before signing with Westcliff last year.

Westcliff had a record of 19-8 overall, had won four games in a row and six of its last seven games before the coronavirus pandemic ended the season.

Hascup was batting .432 with 27 hits and 40 total bases for the Warriors.

He helped Irvine Valley finish with a record of 20-19-1 overall in 2019. Hascup played in 27 games for the Lasers.

He was also solid in the classroom.

The former Dana Hills High player was named to the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association Academic All-State team after recording a 3.77 GPA at IVC.

He is studying business administration at Westcliff.
