CCCAA Board announces plan for return to sports in 2021July 10, 2020The California Community College Athletic Association Board of Directors announced the implementation of its Contingency Plan for return to sports in 2020-21 on Thursday. All of IVC's 11 sports will be played in the spring.

Alumni Report: Hascup was off to a great start at WestcliffJune 04, 2020Former Irvine Valley outfielder Michael Hascup was batting .432 with 27 hits and 40 total bases for Westcliff this spring when the season was halted. He played two years for the Lasers and was also a scholar athlete.

He and the Tigers were starting to find their groove in 2020 when the season ended.

Baseball player Kyle Rawlings signs with Westcliff UniversityMay 11, 2020Freshman Kyle Rawlings, who red-shirted for Irvine Valley during the 2020 season, recently signed with NAIA Westcliff University. Rawlings was a three-year varsity player at San Juan Hills High before arriving at IVC.

Alumni Report: Cole Joy stands out at Long Beach StateMay 04, 2020Cole Joy an all-Orange Empire Conference player for Irvine Valley in 2017, was off to a solid start for the Dirtbags, who were ranked No. 17 in the nation. Joy had played in 11 of 15 games, including starting nine at catcher.

Alumni Report: former IVC baseball player Tyler Odekirk shinesApril 21, 2020Tyler Odekirk signed with the University of San Diego in 2017 after two great years at Irvine Valley. The middle infielder red-shirted there and then moved on to Cal State Los Angeles where he has done nothing but stand out.

Star catcher Collin Villegas signs to play at Division I Cal PolyMarch 25, 2020Irvine Valley catcher Collin Villegas recently signed with NCAA Division I Cal Poly. The sophomore hit .349 through 21 games and had helped IVC to a No. 14 ranking in Southern California in the last poll before the year ended.

Baseball team knocks off top-ranked team in the stateMarch 07, 2020Irvine Valley hands Santa Ana just its third loss of the season, winning, 9-7, Saturday at home. The big blow was a go-ahead, three-run home run by Dante Faicchio in the sixth inning. Robbie Haw battled for the win on the mound.

The Lasers had 13 hits on the day, including three by Joey Lapolla and got an excellent relief performance from Sterling Locicero.

The Lasers record 15 hits in a 8-5 win Thursday. Dante Faicchio goes 3 for 5 with two RBI and Kyle Dobson records two hits and three RBI for IVC.

No. 3 Story of the Year - Dunham throws first-ever IVC no-hitterAugust 26, 2019Sophomore righthander Justin Dunham threw the first no-hitter in Irvine Valley baseball program history on Feb. 18 at home against Mt. San Jacinto. Dunham needed just over 100 pitches in blanking the Eagles, 7-0.

No. 7 Story of the Year - Honoring athletes/scholars of the yearAugust 22, 2019Irvine Valley honored its athletes of the year, scholar athletes of the year and others as part of its 19th Annual Awards. AOYs were Lea Kruse and Kyle Dobson, while Renata Bath and Grant Joyce were the scholar-athletes.
