Baseball player Andrew Nero headed to CSU-Pueblo

Andrew Nero, who was a sophomore baseball player at Irvine Valley this past season, is headed to Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Nero, who was a back-up catcher at IVC, could be going back to doing some pitching for Colorado State-Pueblo.

Nero was a two-year player for the Lasers.

He helped Irvine Valley finish with a record of 19-24 overall in 2017. The Lasers made the Southern California Regional Playoffs and won a playoff game over Chaffey on the road before falling Grossmont in the regionals.

The 6-2 Edison High product is heading to a Colorado State-Pueblo team that had a record of 23-26 last season and went 17-16 in conference. He will join IVC teammate Robbie Espinosa with the Thunderwolves.

Nero is the ninth Irvine Valley sophomore player from the 2017 team to sign with a four-year college.
