Irvine Valley's baseball team had a nice bounce back win on Friday, beating West Los Angeles, 17-2, on the road.
Irvine Valley had dropped its previous two games to Long Beach City.
The Lasers scored their most runs of the season in improving their record to 6-5 overall.
Irvine Valley led, 4-0, after two innings and scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning and six runs in the top of the ninth.
Sophomore left fielder Clint Jack went 5 for 6 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI.
Sophomore shortstop Jordan Gillerman went 3 for 5 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Sophomore center fielder Dillon Millar walked five times and scored three runs.
Freshman catcher Andrew Nero got his first start behind the plate and had a hit and two RBI.
Sophomore Branden Williams, the regular catcher, started at third base and made several nice plays. He walked twice and scored two runs.
And freshman right fielder Weston Ellis had a hit and two RBI.
Freshman Adam Lamar was the starter on the mound and pitched four effective innings. He earned his first college win. Lamar gave up two runs on three hits.
Sophomore Cole Millerd threw two shutout innings, sophomore Jason McClellan threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, sophomore Kyle Goodbrand pitched a scoreless inning and freshman Matthew Markus pitched one scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
"It was a very good day all around," IVC coach Kent Madole said.
Irvine Valley is at home again on Tuesday, hosting LA Valley at 2 p.m.
