Irvine Valley's men's tennis team scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning and went on to beat El Camino-Compton, 6-2, on Tuesday night in Compton.
The win lifted IVC's record back up over .500 at 4-3.
Irvine Valley finished with 12 hits in the contest. It was the third straight game for the team with at least 12 hits.
And the Lasers have scored, six, seven, seven and six runs in their last four ballgames.
Irvine Valley is batting .324 as a team through seven games.
Four players had at least two hits on Tuesday.
Sophomore left fielder Clint Jack went 3 for 6 with a run scored. Sophomore catcher Branden Williams was 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and four RBI, freshman second baseman Tyler Odekirk was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and freshman right fielder Weston Ellis went 2 for 5 for IVC.
Williams had the big hit in the top of the 10th to break the tie. His double knocked in sophomore shortstop Jordan Gillerman and Odekirk to give Irvine Valley a 4-2 lead.
Sophomore center fielder Dillon Millar and freshman first baseman Tyler Wagner each followed with sacrifice flies in the top of the 10th inning to cap IVC's scoring.
Williams also knocked in Irvine Valley's first two runs of the game, which came in the top of the first inning. His single brought in Odekirk and Jack.
Compton scored a single run in the bottom of the second and then another in the bottom of the fifth against Irvine Valley sophomore left-handed starter Ryan Abady.
Abady ended up going six innings and giving up two runs on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts.
Sophomore reliever Cole Millerd pitched four scoreless innings in relief to earn the win. He only allowed two hits and one walk and had three strikeouts. He improved his record to 1-1 on the year.
Williams improved his batting average to .429 for IVC. He also has a team-high nine RBI.
Gillerman is hitting .423 and Jack is batting .406. Gillerman and Jack lead the team with eight runs scored apiece.
Miguel Valles led Compton, going 4 for 4 with a triple and a run scored at the plate. Ivan Navarro was 2 for 4 with a double.
Irvine Valley plays again on Thursday at home, hosting Victor Valley at 2 p.m.
