Irvine Valley standout first baseman Lucas Tancas has signed with Long Beach State.
Tancas helped lead Irvine Valley to a California Community College Athletic Association Super Regional Playoff appearance this season.
The Lasers finished with a record of 23-18 overall.
Tancas paced Irvine Valley in batting average at .340, in hits with 53 and runs with 24.
He was third on the team in RBI with 16 and also tied a team-high in stolen bases with seven.
Tancas had 15 multi-hit games this year.
He was named a Southern California player of the week earlier this season.
Tancas is headed to a Long Beach State program that has a record of 28-23 heading into this weekend's big series with Cal State Fullerton.
