Baseball team ranked No. 13 in Southern California

Irvine Valley has moved up four spots in the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association South Region Poll.

The poll, which was released on March 17, has IVC at No. 13.

Two weeks ago, Irvine Valley was ranked 17th.

The Lasers have a record of 12-9 overall through Tuesday and are 4-4 in the Orange Empire Conference.

The teams ahead of Irvine Valley in the poll are Fullerton, Palomar, Cypress, Oxnard, Santa Barbara City, Riverside, Rio Hondo, Canyons, Orange Coast, Southwestern, Saddleback and Cerritos.

Irvine Valley was also just outside being ranked in the ABCA Junior College Pacific Associations Division March 17 Poll.

The top-25 poll includes the best community college teams from California as well as Washington and Oregon.

IVC was listed as one of three other teams from Southern California.

Irvine Valley plays again on Thursday at home, hosting No. 1 Fullerton at 2 p.m.
