
After starting Orange Empire Conference play with a four-set loss to Golden West, Irvine Valley's women's volleyball team won its second match in a row Friday night.
Both wins for the Lasers this week were by sweep.
IVC took care of business Friday night with a 25-13, 25-10, 25-13 victory at Santa Ana. Irvine Valley improved its record to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
The Lasers hit .286 as a team in the contest.
Irvine Valley received contributions from all around the lineup.
Sophomore opposite Ava Guenther finished with 12 kills, four aces, seven digs and two blocks.
Sophomore middle blocker Avery Bennett added nine kills and hit .667, sophomore middle blocker Natalia Brandlin ended with six kills and five digs and hit .600, sophomore setter Mia Bertolone had 37 assists and 12 digs and freshman libero Audrey Fowler contributed 17 digs for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley is back in action next Wednesday, hosting Saddleback in a conference match at 6 p.m.
