Jaclyn Sanchez Signing Gallery
Irvine Valley freshman women's indoor and beach volleyball player Jaclyn Sanchez is signing with NCAA Division I University of Nevada.
Sanchez (pictured with her sister) will be a setter for the Wolfpack indoor volleyball squad.
She was named second team all-Orange Empire Conference in the fall of 2021 after helping Irvine Valley to a record of 16-6 overall and 12-4 in the OEC. IVC finished second in conference.
Irvine Valley also made the California Community College Athletic Association So. Cal. Regional playoffs.
Because of need, Sanchez, normally a setter, was used as an outside hitter much of the year for the Lasers.
She ended up averaging 2.74 kills and 2.73 digs per set and ended with 36 aces.
Sanchez finished second on the team in kills per set, second in total kills with 200, second in digs per set, second in digs with 199 and third in aces on the team.
Sanchez went on to compete for the IVC women's beach volleyball squad during the spring and helped the Lasers to their second-ever CCCAA State Team Championship.
Irvine Valley won its division in the Orange Empire Conference and went on to defeat El Camino, 4-1, Cabrillo, 3-2, and Feather River, 3-2, in the state tournament May 12 at Irvine Valley to claim the title.
Sanchez teamed with freshman Emily Guenter at the No. 1 pairs position for the Lasers.
The duo also reached the round of 16 in the CCCAA pairs tournament over the next two days.
Sanchez, who came to Irvine Valley out of Huntington Beach High, is headed to a Nevada team that competes in the Mountain West Conference.
