Volleyball player Jayli Nealy named AVCA player of the week

Irvine Valley freshman women's volleyball player Jayli Nealy was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Two-year college player of the week on Monday.

Nealy led Irvine Valley to a pair of sweeps last week in Orange Empire Conference play, which meant the team went 6-2 in October including closing the month on a six-match winning streak.

She had 16 kills and hit .556 with three blocks as the Lasers swept Orange Coast and tallied four blocks and 13 kills against Riverside.

Nealy leads the team in kills, total blocks, and points per set this season.
