Jayli Nealy named a CCCWVCA state player of the week

Irvine Valley freshman opposite Jayli Nealy was named one of two California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association state players of the week of Nov. 10.

Nealy, who was chosen for Southern California, led IVC to two sweeps last week in Orange Empire Conference play.

She put on a dominating display in two victories last week for the red-hot Lasers of Irvine Valley.

She rifled 16 kills and hit .556 with three blocks as IVC swept Orange Coast and totaled 29 kills, 7 blocks and scored 32.5 points in just six sets of play for the week.

Nealy is among the state Top 20 in both kill percentage (.324) and blocks average and 12th in kills per set at a 3.87 clip.

The two wins helped Irvine Valley improve its record to 13-3 overall and 9-2 in conference.

The Northern California pick was outside hitter Adrianna Williams of De Anza College.
