Irvine Valley's women's volleyball team had little trouble in earning its 11th straight win of the season on Friday night at home.

The Lasers, ranked No. 2 in the state and first in Southern California, rolled to a 25-13, 25-20, 25-9 Orange Empire Conference win over Fullerton.

The win lifted Irvine Valley's record to 11-0 overall and 5-0 in conference.

It was IVC's ninth sweep of an opponent this season.

The first set was close early, but pulled away.

IVC won 12 of the final 15 points in the first set, including seven in a row.

Two straight aces by freshman defensive specialist Jade Parham gave IVC a 20-10 lead.

Two kills in a row by freshman outside hitter Alyssa Vortouni and a kill by sophomore outside hitter Taira Ka'awaloa put IVC ahead, 24-12, and two points later, sophomore opposite Diamond Brogan ended the set with a kill.

The Lasers never looked back in grinding out a win in the second set and then cruising while playing some of their best volleyball of the season in the third and final set.

Irvine Valley got a balanced effort on the night with Ka'awaloa finishing with 12 kills, Vortouni and sophomore outside hitter Olivia Aguilar ending with 11 kills and Brogan chipping in nine kills.

Aguilar and Ka'awaloa each finished with nine digs, sophomore libero Gabi Lau had eight digs, freshman defensive specialist Renata Bath had three digs and three aces and sophomore setter Megan Ramseyer contributed 36 assists.

Both of Irvine Valley's conference contests are on the road next week. IVC plays at Santa Ana on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and at Santiago Canyon on Friday at 6 p.m.
