Women's tennis team is ranked No. 1 in final ITA CCCAA State Poll

Irvine Valley's women's team was selected as the top squad in the state in final 2020 Intercollegiate Tennis Association California Community College Athletic Association Top 25 Rankings released this past week.

The Lasers were off to the program's best ever start at 8-0. IVC had already defeated both Saddleback and Cypress, 9-0, and Irvine Valley won its toughest match of the year so far, 5-4, at El Camino on Feb. 11. 

Irvine Valley's season was ended after its big 6-3 Orange Empire Conference victory over Riverside at home on Mar. 5. The Lasers' scheduled Mar. 12 match at Orange Coast and the rest of the season was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Riverside came in second in the final state poll. The top 10 included Irvine Valley, Riverside, Sierra, Santa Barbara City, El Camino, City College of San Francisco, College of the Desert, Santa Monica, College of the Canyons and Modesto.

Members of the Irvine Valley team include Ariyana Ash, Nicole Harper, Collette Kelly, Ashley Le, Sabrina Mendy, Justice Tien and Soleil Zsibrita.
