
Irvine Valley's women's tennis team earned its third win of the season with a 7-2 victory over El Camino on the road on Thursday.
The Lasers won five of six matches in singles and two of three in doubles to improve their record to 3-1 on the year.
Freshman Halla Alajeely stayed unbeaten at No. 1 singles for the Lasers with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Stephanie Kingham.
Irvine Valley also got singles wins from sophomore Fiorella Dreux at the third spot, freshman Anna Krechetova at the fourth position, freshman Abigail Perez at No. 5 and sophomore Lauren MacDonnell at the sixth position.
Krechetova, Perez and MacDonnell each won in straight sets with MacDonnell not giving up a game.
Dreux came back to win her match. She dropped the first set to Madi Giese, but rallied to win, 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.
In doubles, Irvine Valley got an 8-3 win from freshman Ariana Hedayati and Perez at No. 2 and an 8-1 victory from Krechetova and MacDonnell at No. 3.
Irvine Valley plays again on Friday, hosting Mesa Community College from Arizona.
