Women's tennis team seeded seventh in regional team playoffs

Irvine Valley's women's tennis team received the No. 7 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association dual team Southern California regional playoffs.

The Lasers have a record of 10-5 overall and were 8-2 in the Orange Empire Conference. IVC finished second in the conference.

This is the first time that IVC has reached the team playoffs since 2010.

Irvine Valley opens this year's regional on Tuesday at No. 6 Glendale at 2 p.m.

IVC lost to Glendale, 7-2, on the road earlier this year, but several of the matches were close.

Other regional match-ups include No. 8 Grossmont at No. 1 Mt. San Antonio, No. 6 College of the Desert at No. 3 Riverside and No. 5 Santa Barbara City at No. 4 Cerritos.

The winner of the Irvine Valley and Glendale match will take on the winner of the Santa Barbara City and Cerritos in the next round on April 14.

Glendale enters Tuesday's match with a record of 15-2 overall. Glendale won the Western State Conference with a record of 9-1. Its only two losses this season were to Mt. SAC and Santa Barbara City.
