Irvine Valley's women's tennis team won its second straight match in Orange Empire Conference play, beating Orange Coast, 7-2, at home on Thursday.
The Lasers improved their record to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in conference. IVC remained in second place in the conference standings.
IVC won five of six matches in singles and two of three in doubles.
Sophomores Ashley Athanas, Ruth Chou, Christie Yamasaki, Marissa Woolsey and Parmida Navabsafavi each won in singles in straight sets for IVC.
Athanas came out on top, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles for Irvine Valley.
Orange Coast's Hali Dickson defeated IVC sophomore Renee Walton, 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 1 singles position.
In doubles, IVC got an 8-2 win from its No. 2 team of Athanas and Woolsey and a 8-3 victory from the No. 3 squad of Yamasaki and Chou.
Irvine Valley plays again next Tuesday, hosting Cypress at 2 p.m. in a conference match.
