Irvine Valley athletics is proud to announce Tom Lancaster as the new head coach of the women's soccer program heading into the fall 2022 season.

He replaces Joe Supe, who stepped aside to take on other opportunities.

Lancaster has more than 15 years of coaching experience in both the UK and the United States.

He spent five years as one of the lead assistant coaches for the Irvine Valley men's soccer team.

During his time at IVC, the men's team won the OEC in 2015 and finished second in conference in 2016 and 2017.

"It is an honor to be named the new women's soccer coach at Irvine Valley," Lancaster said. "Irvine Valley has built a fantastic reputation by guiding students toward their education and career goals.

"It is the No. 1 transfer school in the state and I look forward to pairing the academic success of the school with winning on the field. I can't wait to get started.

Lancaster is also a soccer coach at Westcliff University.

He has assisted players in competition at the top level in the professional and college game.

Besides working at Irvine Valley and Westcliff, Lancaster helped the Woodbridge High boys soccer team win a Pacific Coast League title in 2019. It was the Warriors' first league title in five years.

He has coached for the Olympic Development Program with the boys 95 age group and won a regional championship in 2012.

Lancaster has also been an assistant coach at Biola University under head coach Bryan Kuderman and at Whittier College under head coach Paul Walmsley.

Growing up in England, Lancaster played Soccer for Lichfield FC in the Midlands Combination League until 2008 when he moved to California.

Since moving to the United States, Lancaster has played for LA Strikers (CSL), OC Crew (UPSL), and was a player-coach for the Irvine Matrix (UPSL).

Lancaster holds a BSc (Hons) from the University of South Wales in Football Coaching, Development and Administration, as well as his UEFA B Coaching License and USSF National C Coaching License and, is currently working towards his Msc in Advanced Performance Football Coaching.

He has been married to his wife April since 2009.

The two live in Irvine with their young children.
