The Irvine Valley women's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lasers dropped their first match last Friday at Southwestern, 4-0, but bounced back with a solid victory.
IVC came out on top, 1-0, at El Camino Tuesday behind a second-half goal from freshman forward Yvonne Ventura.
The Lasers scored in the 69th minute on a counter play.
Freshman defender Julia Butz passed to Ventura, who finished in to the top right corner.
Irvine Valley freshman goalie Frida Molina had two saves and earned her first shutout of the season.
The Lasers are back in action on Friday in the Mt. SAC Tourament against Norco at 4 p.m.
