Irvine Valley's women's soccer team went on the road and defeated San Diego City, 2-1, on a last-minute goal Tuesday afternoon.

The win improved Irvine Valley's record to 2-3-0 on the year.

The Lasers fell behind, 1-0, after Tatiana Idarza scored in the 25th minute for San Diego City.

But Irvine Valley shut down the Knights' attack the rest of the way.

Irvine Valley tied the contest 10 minutes into the second half when freshman defender Amanda Kutcher scored off an assist from freshman midfielder Betsabet Corrales.

As the match was winding down, IVC found the back of the net again.

In the 90th minute, freshman midfielder Hope Carr scored the game-winner. It was her first goal of the season.

And it came off an assist from Kutcher.

Kutcher now has three goals and one assist on the season.

Sophomore Heather Miller played the first half and freshman Katelyn Faber played the second half in goal for IVC.

The Lasers return to action on Friday, playing back in San Diego at MiraCosta at 3 p.m.
