The Irvine Valley women's soccer team recently had two players selected to All-Orange Empire Conference squads.
Sophomore defender Savannah Hayes was selected to the first team and sophomore defender and midfielder Cassandra Fuentes was picked to the second team for the Lasers.
Hayes and Fuentes each started all 20 matches this past season for the Lasers.
Hayes was of the top defensive players in the conference. She also scored one goal on the season.
Fuentes was also strong and reliable for IVC on the defensive end. And she contributed three assists in 2018.
Irvine Valley ended the season with a record of 3-10-7 overall and was 1-9-6 in conference play.
Santiago Canyon, which won the state title two weeks ago, had 10 representatives on the all-conference teams to lead the way, including having Angelica Ortega earn MVP honors.
Santiago Canyon was followed by Golden West and Fullerton, which both had six players named to the all-conference squad. Cypress, Saddleback, Orange Coast and Santa Ana each had four players selected while Irvine Valley and Norco had two apiece.
