Women's golf team looks good at Oak Creek home match

The Irvine Valley women's golf team finished second at its home Orange Empire Conference match on Wednesday.

The Lasers ended with a record of 7-1 at the match at Oak Creek Golf.

IVC was just two shots away from going undefeated.

Irvine Valley finished with a four-player team score of 345.

Mt. SAC won with a score of 423 and went undefeated on the day.

College of the Desert was third at 348 and had a record 6-2.

Palomar and Mt. San Jacinto each finished at 358 with Palomar taking fourth on the tiebreaker to earn a 5-3 record.

Mt. San Jacinto went 4-4. Orange Coast (368) was sixth at 3-5, Saddleback (393) was seventh at 2-6, Cuyamaca (425) finished eighth at 1-7 and Fullerton (504) was ninth at 0-8

The co-medalists for the match were Irvine Valley sophomore Hyerin Kim and College of the Desert's Kabrea Rosas. They each finished with a score of 7 over par 78.

Kim had 11 pars and seven bogeys on the day.

Next for Irvine Valley was sophomore Rebecca Peng, who came in at 86. Sophomore Stuti Mandal carded an 87 to round out the team scoring for Irvine Valley.

Irvine Valley improved its record to 24-8 overall. The Lasers remained in third place in the conference standings behind Mt. SAC and College of the Desert.
