Women's golf team set to host conference match Wednesday

The Irvine Valley women's golf team will be hosting the rest of the teams in the Orange Empire Conference on Wednesday at Oak Creek.

Tee off time is at 11:30 a.m.

Irvine Valley is off to a solid start in conference play with a record of 14-2 through two matches.

The Lasers trail only College of the Desert (16-0) in the conference standings.

IVC is led by sophomore standouts Leleaga Meredith and Cindy Dang. Each player was named all-conference and made the state tournament as individuals last season. Leleaga finished third overall individuall at the state event.

Wednesday's match is also the first of the 2014-15 Irvine Valley Faculty/Staff Appreciation Series.

Faculty and staff at Irvine Valley are encouraged to attend and support IVC student-athletes events throughout the school year.

On Wednesday, after watching the opening groups of players tee off, faculty and staff will be hosted on the driving range at Oak Creek from 12 to 1 p.m. A free bucket of balls and iced tea will be available for those faculty and staff in attendance.
