The Lasers were just a shot short of tying College of the Desert, which finished at 340 and picked up four wins.

Palomar dominated the event with a low team score of 306, followed by Fullerton's 330, Saddleback's 338, College of the Desert's 340 and IVC's 341.

Also for Irvine Valley, freshman Nayoung Kim came in with a score of 90. Her round included one birdie, five pars, seven bogeys, four double bogeys and a quadruple bogey. Her conference average is 88.4

Freshman Kimberly Richardson completed Irvine Valley's scoring with a 97. Her conference scoring average is 95.0

"We missed an opportunity to pick up additional wins over College of the Desert and Saddleback," IVC Coach Ben Burnett said. "Our third and fourth spots could improve their scores with better strategy and course management. I am pleased with their effort. We are an all freshmen squad and have the potential to improve."

Irvine Valley plays again Monday at Twin Oaks. The match is hosted by Mt. San Jacinto.
